Husbands,(or future husbands) this one is for you. Three sections to this post
- background conversation
- example questions to ask your wife
- a challenge to start this week
Conversation in a nutshell:
Darren – “How are you intentionally building in to your marriage?”
Friend – “I’m communicating better with her”
Darren – “How do you do that?” (yup, that just showed my IQ)
Friend – “I’ve started asking her intentional questions”
Darren – “confused look on my face”
Friend – “I email her a question”
Darren – “I still don’t get it. How often, what if she doesn’t answer, why email…he interrupts”
Friend – “I send a new question after she replies. Sometimes it takes a couple days.”
Darren – “What surprised you from this experiment?”
Friend – “She’s answered every question…not only answered, but she’s answered with long, intentionally thought out responses”
Friend – I’m learning very specifically where I need to lead better and .”
Friend – “I am so thankful and blessed for this time in our marriage…we are not only becoming better spouses to each other but better friends”
Friend – Darren, you should try this and see if it strengthens your marriage. Take five questions and just try, can’t hurt, right?”
Darren – “Send me some questions to help me get started. I’m in.”
Questions To Help Us Get Started:
1.) If you could go anywhere in the world, right now – where would you go and for how long?
2.) If you had three wishes (not for more wishes), what would they be?
3.) If you could own any business – what would it be?
4.) If you could take a day and spend time with anyone (dead or alive (besides Jesus)), who would they be and what would you talk about or do? If that’s hard you can name a few, just means you’ll have to answer more for each one
5.) What would you like your obituary to say (don’t take that in a creepy way). For help with this, what would you like your husband to say, your kids, or anyone else…
6.) Describe in detail how you like to be kissed.
7.) Your favorite poem and why? (If no poem then song.)
8.) What is the one thing you enjoy doing, that you wished I would do with you, or do more of with you.
9.) What can I do to better lead you and our children to Godliness?
10.) How good of a friend am I? And how can I improve?
11.) Using only adjectives, how would you describe the last 10 years?
12.) What is one thing that I do that you look forward to the most?
The Challenge:
Men, I’m looking to find some guys who will join with me this week in sending our wives some intentional questions.
Anyone else have any tips on marriage to share?
Men, are you willing to take the challenge?

im in lets see what happens.
Sweet! – Excited to hear how it goes
Great thoughts and questions. Looking forward to upholding your challenge.
